[Another Useless Phone Call to Lufthansa] Two co-workers and I, had the very unfortunate experience of having all our luggage get lost on our return from a business trip to Europe. On August 10, 1999 we arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila, Philippines after flying Lufthansa Airlines from Rome, Italy through a connecting flight in Frankfurt, Germany. To our dismay, our luggage did not arrive in Manila with us. Some where along the way from Skopje, Macedonia (our orignal starting place) to Manila, Philippines our luggage vanished! When we checked in at the airport in Skopje, we were assured by the airport staff that it would be directly routed to Manila.

Upon discovering that our luggage did not make it to Manila, we immediately filed missing luggage forms with Lufthansa. We were assured by the Lufthansa officials at NAIA that our luggage would be found quickly and delivered to us as soon as it arrived. Further inquiries revealed that our luggage was apparently "mis-tagged" in Rome when they made the switch from Macedonia Airlines to Lufthansa.

Sad to say, it now has been days since we arrived back in the Philippines and we still are missing some of our luggage!

Perhaps now we have the attention of someone in Lufthansa! If you are an employee of Lufthansa Airlines please look at the following information and find our remaining missing pieces of luggage. If they are gone for good, please pay us our just compensation for our loss.

Out of our five pieces of missing luggage, four have finally made their way back to us but only after weeks of delay and daily phone calls (at our expense) to Lufthansa officials. One more piece of luggage yet remains unaccounted for! One piece of luggage that did make it back (an expensive projector), after being mistakenly routed to Jacksonville Florida despite our Philippine address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address clearly listed on the front, now has a broken lamp switch and a busted remote control!

We call the Lufthansa office in Manila on a daily basis but they keep telling us that there is no reply from their Rome office. Does their Rome office even know they should be looking out for our remaining missing luggage? We tried calling their Rome outfit directly but no one there spoke English! Aside from Lufthansa's Manila office phone and fax numbers we cannot find any other phone, fax, or e-mail address to report to Lufthansa our extreme disappointment at this type of customer "service."

We realize that luggage is sometimes lost or routed to wrong destinations, that's a fact of life. What we are extremely upset about is that we have to call Lufthansa in Manila (a long distance phone call by the way) to press them to check up on the status of the search for our missing luggage. To this day they still don't know where the remaining two pieces of luggage is!

Since we have no other means of voicing our grievences with Lufthansa, we have decided to post this web site. This site will remain up until the remaining missing pieces of luggage has been found and safely returned to us plus compensation for any damages incurred to our luggage and its contents and for the inconvinence caused by the delay of delivery of our luggage in addition to compensation for expenses incurred during our following up with Lufthansa on the status of our lost luggage search. They should be paying for the phone calls, not us, right? If our remaining lost pieces of luggage is truly lost, then we demand prompt and forthcoming just compensation for our loss!
